Carrie Daley
I grew up in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, where I learned to crochet, sew, and paint from my grandma—skills that stuck with me. After years working in the intense and often heartbreaking world of animal welfare, I needed an outlet. I started making chainmaille jewelry, and the repetitive motion of opening and closing tiny rings helped calm my mind. Eventually, I picked up painting with acrylics, using tools to create designs on canvas, board, and wood. Lately, I have focused on dot mandalas and geometric patterns, many based on traditional quilt blocks. Like the jewelry, painting one dot at a time helps me slow down, breathe, and be present. It has become less about the final product and more about finding peace in the process.
“It’s all about finding peace in the symmetry of the design and the universe.”
